April Vintage Woven Wall Hanging Tapestry
While out & about sourcing vintage rugs Sarah selects individual smaller pieces that work beautifully as original pieces of art. It's hard to leave any behind, but only the most statement and characterful tapestries are chosen! This harlequinest oriental kilim was selected for the most joyful pattern and colour combination. The wonderful Spring like wall hanging will not fail to raise a smile or elevate a space, there are so many different little motifs in the pattern that it will keep you interested for quite some time - everytime you look back at it you'll notice a new colour. Perfect for a children's bedroom or playroom to spark a conversation or a colour game :)
So, as we promise that all our oriental finds are one-of-a-kind, how can there be two of these available you might ask? Well, if you look really closely you will see that even though the March & April wall hangings look very similar, there are a few differences between the two. Another game to play - Spot The Difference! It is very likely that the same weaver crafted both of these pieces, one after the other, but in that moment each one is unique to the weavers creative process.
Sarah adds contrast cylinder distressed wooden batons, coloured in Edward Bulmer plastic free paint. The resulting art is completely unique, and will never be seen in another home. The wall hangings can be hung as a statement on their own, or amongst a mix of styles of art to create an eclectic wall decor scheme.
The bold colours and distinctive designs of Kilim tapestries are intentional, reflecting the history and culture of the tribal communities that made them. Due to being handmade the wall art may not be perfectly rectangular or evenly straight, and this just makes them even more charming :)
