Fauna Vintage Kilim Hand Woven Rug
Compellingly colourful, yet somehow understated at the same time. What's your favourite part of the colourful pattern? I love the abstract impression of nature and leaves. This is a unique rug that will bring joy to both contemporary and classic spaces.
This traditional rug was made by tribal women in the south-west of Persia with basic symbols of nature and leaves. This pattern will have been passed down through the generations as mothers and grandmothers teach their daughters the art of Persian rug making. No two Shiraz rugs are the same - the bold, strong, geometric designs are distinctively tribal, their history is so enchanting. Flatweave handwoven rugs are perfect for high traffic areas, under furniture or under doors.
The bold colours and distinctive geometric designs of Kilim rugs are intentional, reflecting the history and culture of the tribal communities that made them. That’s why every rug we source is a one-off. A piece of unique art capturing the history and story of its maker that takes on a new life as a feature in your home, as a floor covering, breathing new life into a sofa or bed or being hung on the wall for everyone to enjoy.
Investing in a vintage rug ensures these beautiful and meaningful products stay in circulation. Woven by hand on a loom, these flat weave rugs are hard-wearing and easy to clean. When looked after, they’ll last you a lifetime.
